Research Collaboration
Private tenants will have the opportunity to collaborate with the University of South Carolina’s
world-class researchers and will have access to equipment and specialized research centers.
Targeting key researchers, interns
In fact, in conjunction with the University’s Centenary Plan to hire new research faculty, tenants
will be able to target and recruit key, non-tenure faculty to join research teams. The University and
tenant would share the cost of new faculty for up to three years until the researchers are self-supporting
through grants and other funding sources.
Additionally, the University will help establish formal internship programs with tenants in order to give students real-world lab opportunities and to develop experienced prospects for future employment.
Innovista Partners Program
The Innovista Partners Program provides additional value to those companies and their employees
locating here. Innovista Partners are granted University access and discounts for many products and services
traditionally available only to members of the University community. Benefits and privileges extended to
Innovista Partners include:
- CarolinaCard - Your official University of South Carolina ID and gateway to all of the benefits and privileges available to you.
- Wellness & Fitness Center - Access to this world-class, 192,000-square-foot facility is available to Innovista Partners for a monthly fee.
- Athletic Events - Access to tickets for selected University athletic events is available to Innovista Partners upon presentation of a CarolinaCard.
- Libraries - Innovista Partners may utilize library resources such as electronic indexes and journals at all University libraries, including the Thomas Cooper Library and historic South Caroliniana Library.
- Intramural Sports - A comprehensive and diverse offering of competitive sports in a variety of seasonal leagues and tournaments are available at varying costs.
- Summer Camp Programs - Bring the kids to summer camp at the University of South Carolina where programs are available to Innovista Partners and their families through the Athletics Department.
- Bookstores - A 10 percent discount on all purchases is available to Innovista Partners at the University of South Carolina Bookstore and other shops.
- Carolina Catering - Innovista Partners may receive up to a 20 percent discount on catering expenses through Carolina Catering.
- Daniel Management Center/Moore School of Business - The internationally recognized Moore School of Business offers a variety of executive education programs and meeting space to Innovista Partners.
- Carolina Shuttle - Carolina Shuttle service is free to all Innovista Partners.
- Primary Care Partners - Conveniently located in the center of campus, Primary Care Partners offers comprehensive primary healthcare services from common colds to physical exams. Most major health insurances are accepted and same-day appointments can often be accommodated.
- Training Programs - The University’s professional development programs are designed to help its partners enhance productivity by improving individual and organizational performance through the University of South Carolina’s Professional Development courses.
